I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out directly to let you know that I will be leaving the Tourette Association effective March 7, 2018 to pursue a new opportunity. This was a very difficult decision for me as I have enjoyed working with each of you and most importantly, the families we serve.
Thanks to your time, advice and efforts, the organization has hand many significant accomplishments over the last couple of years. Together we worked to:
– Upgrade our ratings from Silver to Gold and then from Gold to Platinum with GuideStar and from two to three stars with Charity Navigator.
– Develop and implement a robust marketing and fundraising plan that has already seen results, including new six figure partnerships.
-Increase our national media exposure including coverage by the New York Times, USA Today, The Doctors, TODAY Show, Inside Edition, Neuron, JAMA, and many others.
– Significantly upgrade the level of talent across the organization.
– End this fiscal year in a positive financial position.
in terms of our transition plan, I am pleased to announce that the National Board of Directors has promoted Amanda Talty to the positions of Executive Vice President and Interim CEO, effective March 1, 2018. I have had the opportunity to work with Amanda both here at the Tourette Association of America and previously at the American Red Cross, and have the full expectation that she will do an outstanding job. Amanda has played an integral role in all of our strategic initiatives over the past couple of years. She is an accomplished professional who understands the importance of fulfilling our organization’s mission while being able to demonstrate the importance of our impact. Please join me in congratulating Amanda on her new role.
I look forward to staying in touch and hearing about the organization’s future successes!
